Code Of Conduct

In-Game Name: CG Executive Officer Jaul

Suggestion: Reworking the Code of Conduct

Reason for Suggestion: At the moment, most of the arrests are bunched up into one offence which makes a gray area and leaves a lot of questions to what the person actually did to deserve an arrest. Added to this, it would reinforce the whole military police aspect of the Coruscant Guards, furthering their difference from the regular police and assisting in handling of both non and military units. Whilst also making each violation have it's own set time instead of being grouped.

Notes:
- This has been voted on in a Coruscant Guard Regimental meeting, it has been accepted by the regiment.
- Violations have now more alternating Time Sentences while keeping the max Brig time at 10 minutes.
- The way how to do arrests and how to do the paperwork would stay the same
- Subsections like 5.2 and 5.2.1 are divided cause they will build up on each other
- Some violations have split up to make a clear separation e.g. Misuse of Equipment (4.1) and Unauthorized Control of a Vehicle (2.3)

I would like to correct your offence wordings thank you:

Blackmail - Making unwarranted demands or menaces with a view to gain for themself or another or with intent to cause loss to another

Armed theft should be robbery

Robbery - A person steals and immediately beofer or at the time of doing so and in order to do so, uses force on any person or puts or seeks to put any person in fear of being then and there subjected to force.

Kidnap - to carry away another person without their consent and without lawful excuse (hostage taking should be its own offence)

Hostage taking - A person detains any other person and in order to compel a state/international government organisation or person to do any act or to abstain from doing any act, threatens to kill, injure or continue to detain the hostage.

Mayhem - this should just be battery

Conspiracy - Conspiracy is where two or more people agree to pursue a course of conduct which if carried out would amount to an offence

Threatening - this can be separated in multiple offences:
Threats to kill(TTK for short)  - A person makes a threat to kill another with the intention that they would believe the threat is carried out.
Threats to cause criminal damage - A person makes a threat to damage property belonging to another with the intention that they would believe the threat is carried out.
Common assault - A person causes the victim to apprehend unlawful immediate violence.

This could be fun to see implemented - however as long as some of these aren't done through ForceRP I think it'd be great!

Allow me to add a significant Note onto that:

Some Sub-Sections have been created under the premises of

1. establishing a Base for the upcoming Criminal Jobs or Passive Events (e.g the Commercial Crimes section)

2. Some Sub-Sections have been created on the idea to separate current Violations having a grey zone like Equipment Abuse. Right now, Equipment abuse is described as "Abusing Equipment given to the Player". But this can’t apply when a 501st in example enters a BARC speeder and drives around with it. With the new CoC, the 501st could be punished for Theft, Unauthorized Driving and e.g Vehicular Manslaughter (if he runs someone over while driving)

3. As mentioned in 1., some Violations can result in more passive RP like if you get caught for a DUI/PUI, you would get a medical examination and depending on the outcome you would get arrested or not

4. Talking about the ForceRP aspect you mentioned, this is completely intended to not provide any base of ForceRP. The Procedure how Arrests or AOS would happen and how they are treated by CG will 100% stay the same. I know there has been an issue already with CG doing the Contraband checks on the Vardos Gate but see it from the POV of CG. We are just getting the order to do XYZ. And if the reason seems legit and matching the sense of a Military Police Unit, we rarely question it

Feel free to shoot me a DM if you got any Questions or Concerns (since the Suggestion was originally made by me)

After looking through this in the Republic Navy meeting, we have decided to have this suggestion be:
