General Questions

How long have you been apart of Dauntless?: like a month

Previous Developer Experience: Gmod - A few dozen commissions, long-term work with Tamewater and Reborn Gaming. Outside gmod - Currently do NOAA research, used to work on DoD contracts. Can explain more somewhere else, this has a character limit.

Skillset: Java, Python, Javascript, Lua, C++, SQL (SQLite, MySQL), Redis, OpenGL (GLSL, SFML), Unreal Engine, Modeling, Animating

 

Dauntless Specific

Reason to become a Developer: I've been away from Gmod for a while and I just started slowly getting back into it. I miss being able to make cool things and seeing them being used day-to-day. It's not as much fun coding for work as it is on here as a hobby.

New ideas I can bring: One thing I feel this server could use is better NPC spawning tools. It's strange to see droids appearing from thin air, or having 30 droids pop out of a headcrab canister. Not only would this bring more variety, but it would also make it easier for the event team to spawn them. Instead of having to spawn a headcrab canister, set their spawner to the battle droids, then spam click around, they could just click once where they want the collection of droids to go.
