Role Evaluation
Why should we choose you for this position?Firstly, I have ample experience with regards to the Navy. It has always been my bread and butter. On MVG, I served as the 1IC (factoring in the time I was acting 1IC as 2IC owing to my superior's LOA) of the Navy for a whole year, inheriting it after a mass purge owing to rampant corruption and incompetence. I was never meant to be in charge of the Navy, and I only ever wanted to be a 2IC to a competent leader, but when presented with a leadership opportunity, I did my best. I rebuilt it to as strong a position as I could, and I left with a clear and stable succession. I reworked the spreadsheet, totally revamped the protocols and the recruitment process, I actively recruited from the best and brightest of the server's officers, I extended a hand out to veterans to seek their experienced advice, and by the end of my tenure, NC had entered a remarkably strong position, despite a general decline across the Server. Throughout my time there, I not only became very experienced with the day-to-day operations of Naval personnel- for example, providing clear orders in missions, or keeping the troops entertained via simulations or inspections- but also the invaluable, often intangible qualities a leader needs to possess: the ability to manage crises, step up in times of emergencies, handle disciplinary matters and overall maintain professional conduct.
In addition to this specific Naval experience, I also more broadly have experience serving in senior leadership. In my time not so long ago on MVG, I was not only head of the Generals team (which, owing to a lack of competent officers, often required taking direct control over regiments to provide them with proper leadership) but I went beyond my rank, often helping other regiments like the Sith or the Navy when the moment required such action. Other skills I believe I have include spreadsheet management, effectively delegation and accountability for mistakes.
Ultimately, I believe if offered this opportunity I would be an invaluable member of the Navy leadership. While I appreciate my relatively moderate activity, and the fact that I am not a current Navy member may weaken this application, I believe my lengthy experience across a wide berth of servers and regiments reflects a variety of opinion which could meaningfully inform Naval decision-making, whilst my broader roles in command of personnel across my time in SWRP represents the universal qualities of a decent leader.
I would be honored to serve in this new contingent of the Republic Navy.
